Who We Are
Protecting Our Oceans, Restoring Our Future
Slipway Coral Reef Restoration is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of marine ecosystems in Tanzania. Our work focuses on rehabilitating degraded coral reefs, conducting underwater clean-ups, and restoring mangrove forests. By combining scientific research, community engagement, and sustainable conservation strategies, we aim to protect Tanzania’s marine biodiversity and ensure the long-term health of our ocean ecosystems.
Why Our Work Matters

01
Biodiversity Protection
Coral reefs support 25% of marine life, providing critical habitats for fish, sea turtles, and other species.

02
Coastal Defense
Reefs act as natural barriers, protecting shorelines from erosion, storms, etc.

03
Economic & Food Security
Healthy reefs sustain fisheries, tourism, and livelihoods for millions of people worldwide.
What we Do
Restoring Reefs, Protecting Oceans, Empowering Communities

Coral Reef Restoration
We transplant coral fragments onto degraded reefs and deploy artificial reef structures to accelerate reef recovery.

Underwater Clean-Ups
Regular marine debris removal protects corals and marine life, with ongoing monitoring by divers and volunteers.
Mangrove Rehabilitation
We restore degraded mangrove forests, which serve as vital nurseries for marine species and protect coastlines from erosion.
Research & Monitoring
We conduct scientific studies and continuous reef health assessments to adapt and improve conservation strategies.
